Tushar Deshpande got rid of Andre Russell in the 19th over of KKR innings before bringing out the iconic celebration in a tribute to Dwayne Bravo.
Chennai Super Kings pacer Tushar Deshpande replicated Dwayne Bravo’s trademark celebration after dismissing Andre Russell in an Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 game against Kolkata Knight Riders on Monday.
In the 19th over of the KKR innings, Deshpande picked up the wicket of Russell with a well-executed delivery that the West Indies all-rounder failed to hit properly.
Daryl Mitchell, standing in the long-on region, made no mistake in completing the catch. Having bagged the wicket, Deshpande lifted his arms to celebrate paying homage to CSK bowling coach Bravo.
The IPL 2024 fixture between CSK and KKR proved to be a rather one-sided affair with the defending champions winning the match by seven wickets. Deshpande was impressive, claiming three crucial wickets.
His influence extended to the death overs as well. The right-arm pacer gave away just four runs in the 17th over while picking up the wicket of Rinku Singh before striking again in the 19th over, removing Russell.
After CSK opted to bowl first at Chepauk, Deshpande got rid of Phil Salt for a golden duck with what was the first delivery of the match.

Sunil Narine and Angkrish Raghuvanshi were the next to fall at the hands of star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer top-scored for KKR with 34 as the two-time IPL champions struggled to 137/9.
The batting conditions remained slow in the second half as well but CSK were more mindful of their wickets. Having lost Rachin Ravindra early to Vaibhav Arora, skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad took it upon himself to anchor the innings for the hosts. Mitchell was the next to fall, followed by the dismissal of Shivam Dube. Gaikwad remained unbeaten as he played a captain’s knock, scoring 67 runs off 58 balls. He put the match to bed with his ninth boundary of the match.
CSK have so far won three of the five matches they have played in IPL 2024. They currently sit in fourth place on the points table. CSK will next be in action this weekend against Hardik Pandya-led Mumbai Indians.
