Steve Smith and Stuart Broad continue to have some fun as the Australian batter was seen showcasing his culinary skills.

In the whirlwind of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2024 season, the cricket pitch doesn’t seem to be the only place that’s heating up. Typically known for slicing through defences, Australian batter Steve Smith was spotted showcasing a culinary display in front of his fellow commentary panel colleague and England’s bowling great Stuart Broad.

In an Instagram story shared by the England ex-pacer, Smith can be seen with a chef’s hat perched on the top of his head and a wide grin on his face. He even held a large spoon in his hand with an induction oven and a pan in front of him. In his story, Broad addressed the hilarious scene by simply writing, “Chef Smith”.

Four days back, Steve Smith and Stuart Broad were also spotted celebrating Holi together. The duo could be seen rocking a pair of traditional white kurtas as they joined in on the Holi fever. Broad and Smith even had an epic water-gun fight during the celebrations. The video was later shared on the duo’s Instagram accounts. The caption of the post reads, “After years of intense battles on the pitch…Steve Smith & Stuart Broad settled it with a pichkaari fight!”.

Two of red-ball cricket’s greatest-ever players, Stuart Broad and Steve Smith are currently a part of Star Sports India’s commentary desk for the 17th IPL season. Joining them in the international panel are other cricket greats including Dale Steyn, Jacques Kallis, Tom Moody and Paul Collingwood. Broad even shared a post on Instagram, talking about being on the same team for once. Broad even jokingly said that he and Smith had a small chat about the Ashes series last year. “Indian Premier League debut on Star Sports India. On the same team as Steve Smith for once, there’s already been some Ashes chat!”, the post read.

Stuart Broad retired from all forms of cricket in the 2023 Ashes series in England. The English bowling icon hung up his boots against Australia with an impressive tally of 604 wickets in 167 Tests. Broad has also represented England in 121 ODIs and 56 T20Is. Speaking of his IPL career, the English speed demon was a part of the Punjab Kings for two years but he never played an IPL fixture.

As for Steve Smith, the Australia great remained unsold at the IPL auctions held in December last year which led him to embrace the commentary role. Smith has participated in nine seasons of the T20 extravaganza from 2012-2021. He has played 103 games in the tournament while scoring 2485 runs.
